Al-Bashir appoints new Sudanese vice- President

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Tuesday appointed Foreign Minister Othman Muhammad Taha as his first vice president to succeed al-Zubeir Muhammad Saleh, who died in a plane crash last week. Al-Bashir also appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mustafa Othman Ismael as foreign minister, succeeding Taha.
