Lebanon, Politics, 2/18/1998

Hizbullah's (Party of God) secretary-general in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, said the legitimate duty of the Lebanese national resistance is to expel the Israeli occupation from south Lebanon and the western Bekaa.

In a speech on Tuesday in Beirut, Nasrallah asserted the importance of keeping the civilian peace in Lebanon, as well as Hizbullah's commitment to it.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the follow-up committee supporting Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails, Muhammad Safa, discussed with the chief of the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in Lebanon, Jean-Jacque Feresard, the continuous Israeli aggressive practices against the detainees especially the sick.
