Jordan, Politics, 2/18/1998

Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan left Amman for a visit to Britain and France.

Crown Prince Hassan is to discuss the endeavors to find a diplomacy settlement for the current crisis between Iraqi government and the UN Security Council. He is to review with officials in both countries the obstacles facing the Middle East peace process and means to advance it.

The Iraqi crisis with the UN Security Council, and the means to defuse it to avoid more suffering by Iraqis, and ways of sparing the region from a disastrous military confrontation will be among the issues that Prince Hassan is to discuss with British Foreign Minister, whose country heads the EU.

In Paris, Crown Prince Hassan's second stop, Hassan is to meet French President Jacques Chirac, Prime Minister Lionel Jospin and the Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine.

Jordan has made efforts to contain the Iraqi crisis on the basis of full employment of UN Security Council resolutions.
