Arab League, Egypt receive invitations from Qatar
Regional, Politics, 2/17/1998

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Ben Jasem Ben Jaber El-Thani directed an invitation to Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid and Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa to attend the exceptional meeting of Organization of the Islamic Conference states' foreign ministers, expected to be held in Doha from March 15 - 19.

The secretary-general of the OIC, Dr. Ezzedin El-Iraqi said this meeting in Doha was arranged during last year's Tehran summit. At this meeting the foreign ministers will tackle the Middle East peace process, the Gulf situation, methods of reforming the OIC financially and administratively, and developing a policy for confronting the organizations' fiscal crisis resulting from delays by member states in paying their shares of the organization's budget.

El-Iraqi also added in a statement to ArabicNews.com that the ministers will discuss a number of suggestions for developing the organization to cope with technological development and linking it to the Internet.
