79 percent of Egyptians oppose US aggression

Egyptians oppose the hard-line US position towards Iraq. A recent survey conducted by the Arab Consultation Center on Public Opinion surveying Egyptian attitudes about a possible US military strike against Iraq recorded a 79% opposition to a US decision to launch a military strike against Iraq.
61% of those questioned affirmed that the aim of launching a military strike is to support the Israeli presence in the Arab region. Moreover, 75% called for an Arab summit to discuss means of finding a peaceful solution to the crisis.
Meanwhile, 72% called on the Egyptian government to announce its opposition to the US position towards Iraq, even if this leads to reduced US aid to Egypt.
96% called for a unified Arab position towards the recent crisis.
