The government freed all the civilians who were arrested after Friday's pro-Iraqi government demonstration was broken up by police, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah al-Nusour announced. 61 persons were released, he told reporters.
"All the detainees were released," Minister of Interior Nathir Rashid said, adding that he considers the case closed. "We will not arrest any person in regard to this case," he said.
Upon calling all Jordanians to regard the critical situation he told reporters, "The government will ban all protest activities in the future."
