Golan citizens pledge defiance of Israeli occupation

Syrian citizens in the occupied Golan Heights reiterated their condemnation of oppressive Israeli practices, Israel's attempts to perpetuate its occupation, and its continued violations of international norms and charters.
In a statement issued Friday to mark the l6th anniversary of the uprising mounted against the Israeli occupation, the people of the Golan pledged that they would continue to struggle to liberate the Golan.
The statement also denounced the US military buildup in the region and threats to launch a military strike against Iraq.
