PNA looking for more money to Bethlehem 2000

The World Bank has recently made commitments to the Palestine National Authority to offer $25 million as part of its participation in the huge ³Bethlehem 2000² project the Palestinian government is preparing to celebrate the second millennium.
Palestinian minister of planning and international cooperation, Nabil Sha'ath who met lately with Bank representatives, said that the Committee of Bethlehem 2000 Project planned to collect $100 million before June 1998. Belgium, he said, has already offered $10 and the Palestine decided to allocate a total of $250 million within the Palestinian three-year development plan.
Sha'ath said that contacts are underway with other countries to raise more aid for the project.
