Sudanese authorities arrest drug traffickers

The Sudanese daily al-Anba' issued on Wednesday said that Sudanese security forces recently confiscated a half ton of Marijuana, estimated at a value of US $400 million in Um Darman region.
The police have arrested 9 drug traffickers in Um Darman following a two-month campaign to fight drug trafficking. The sources added that during the campaign the police also confiscated automatic machine-guns, adding the drugs were on their way to the capital, Khartoum from areas in the west and southwest of the country.
