Egyptian President meets with al-Sahaf

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt today received Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Saeed al-Sahaf. The meeting was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, Iraq's representative to the Arab League and the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan.

Earlier in the day, Sahaf left Damascus following a three-day visit to Syria during which he met with President Hafez al-Assad. In a predeparture statement he described his visit to Syria as very successful adding: "I would like to express esteem respect and appreciation toward Syria's stand in totally rejecting the use of force against Iraq and in her efforts to reach a diplomatic settlement satisfactory to all sides concerned."
