Egyptian - Indian commerce

The Commercial Chambers Union discussed the signing of a commercial and economic participation agreement between Egypt and India in technology and industrial investment.

Mohamoud El-Arabi, the Egyptian chairman of the Commercial Chambers' Union said the agreement will focus on supporting, encouraging and activating the private sector's role. The agreement will also establish joint projects in petro-chemicals, fertilizers, medicines, agriculture research, land reclamation, and transferring engineering technology to small industries.

Mohamed El-Arabi had also said they agreed on forming an Egyptian - Indian works council composed of representatives from the 2 governments, establishing a permanent core for Egyptian - Indian participation.

He pointed out that through the Egyptian economic delegation's visit to India they agreed upon activating cooperation between the countries in commercial trade, air and marine transport, and making use of financial systems regarding export activities.
