Israeli forces continue aggression against south Lebanon
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 2/10/1998

Israeli occupation troops on Monday bombarded with heavy artillery the Sujoud mountains in the al-Tuffah district of south Lebanon. The shelling was accompanied by a mopping-up campaign with heavy machine-gun fire on the course of al-Zahrani river, news from South Lebanon reported.

Israeli helicopters flew over the al-Tuffah district's mountainous areas. An Israeli cruiser roamed along the southern coastal line from Ras al-Ein area to al-Mansouri.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops continued their oppressive practices inside the occupied strip of south Lebanon. News reports from the occupied strip said Israeli troops have kept under siege the towns of al-Fardis and al-Habariyeh for the second successive week, barring Lebanese citizens from passing through the crossing gates towards the liberated areas in the South.

In addition, the Israeli occupation forces shelled a number of areas in the western Bekaa in eastern Lebanon.
