New agreement between Saudi Arabia and Spain

Saudi Arabia and Spain signed a joint commercial cooperation agreement to enhance and increase commerce between the two countries and examine expanding the railway system in Saudi Arabia to service new cities.
The Saudi minister of economy and commerce, Osama ben Jafar Faqih, said that there are strong relationships between the two countries in different fields, referring to the remarkable increase in commercial exchange, exceeding 1.7 billion dollars in 1996.
Spain occupies the sixth position among the countries of the European Union in the commercial exchange with Saudi Arabia.
