European parliamentary delegation in Algeria
Algeria, Politics, 2/10/1998

The European parliamentary delegation headed by Andria Solin began its visit to Algeria within the discussion between the Algerian and European parliaments.

Abdel-Kader Heagaz, the chairman of foreign relations in the Algerian people's council, said the delegation's visit has nothing to do with an European Union delegation's visit to Algeria last January.

While Ahamd Oyahia, the Algerian prime minister, confirmed his approval of the initiative of the deputies of the Peaceful Society Movement (Hamas) to establish a national front effort to solve the security crisis in Algeria aimed at suggesting a final solution to be presented for the parliament's ratification.

"The front" suggested by Abdel-Razek Magry, the chairman of the parliamentary block for the Hamas movement, will be composed of native personalities chosen by the national people's council, representatives of the state's high associations, the El-Jihad organization and the Martyrs' Sons.
