Iraq's Foreign Minister arrives in Damascus

Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Saeed al-Sahaf arrived in Damascus today as part of an Arab tour. Well-informed Iraqi sources said al-Sahaf went to Damascus by land through the joint borders, which were reopened in June, 1997. Sahaf's tour will also include Cairo and Amman, where he will explain his country's position concerning the present crisis with the UN.
