Egyptian ambassador to Iran on hold

Within President Mubarak's meetings with authors and intellectuals at the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair last Thursday, he said Egypt had chosen a new ambassador to Iran.
However former Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Welayati, said this step was halted because it is only cultural relationships that are presently being resumed.
