Defacing Yitzhak Rabin's statue

A statue of the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was defaced in Jerusalem when unknown persons vandalized it with slogans saying "Rabin you are a traitor".

Israeli Radio said the prohibited Kach group has claimed responsibility for the act.

Rabin was shot and killed by a right-wing Jew, Yigal Amir, who opposed peace with the Arabs during a mass meeting for peace in 1995-in Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile an Israeli court refused a complaint represented by Amir's girlfriend in which she said the police abused her to get confessions from her. She also accused the police of interrogating her for 24 hours and depriving her from sleep to force her to say that she had a previous knowledge of the assassination.
