Jordan oil imports will double if Iraq is hit
Jordan-Iraq, Economics, 2/6/1998
Jordanian oil experts and economists said the cost of Jordan's oil imports will double if oil is to be imported from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria or from the international market to fill Jordan's oil needs, if Iraq is exposed to a US military strike.
The Jordanian daily al-Youm said that the Jordanian Ministry of Energy is prepared to face such a problem with the increased tension and escalation between Baghdad and Washington. The paper added that Jordan has examined its options for importing needed oil from countries in the region and from international markets.
