Privatization of Kuwait airways
Kuwait, Economics, 2/5/1998
The Kuwaiti government is planning to sell off 60% of its national flag carrier, Kuwait Airways Corp, the airline's managing director said yesterday. Ahmed Al-Mishari added that the government's remaining 40% stake would also be sold off "progressively" over time.
He told the officials news agency, KUNA, that initial plans to offer 50% to KAC staff had been drawn up by the government in response to the "political, social and economic" aspects of the deal.
