Positive developments: Qatar, Bahrain on phone with Mubarak
Regional-Egypt, Politics, 2/3/1998
Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani and Emir of Bahrain Sheikh Issa bin Salman al-Khalifa today received telephone calls from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
Gulf News Agency said during the two calls views were exchanged on latest developments in the Arab and international arenas as well as on issues of mutual concern.
Minister of Foreign affairs Sheik Hamad bin Jassim said "We in the state of Qatar do not seek to create crisis and we hope it to end if there was any crisis."
Previously, relations between Egypt and Qatar suffered as a result of the regional economic conference MENA, that was opposed by most Arab states, and was held in Qatar.
