Sudan regains control of rebel area

The Sudanese information minister, El-Tayeb Mohammed Khair, confirmed that the fight began by the rebellion on last Thursday in Wau city is over.
The Sudanese minister urged the local and international media, to travel to Wau to verify that the fight is over.
Government television broadcast scenes from Wau and interviews with military leaders in which some of the officials confirmed that the rebel assault has ended and that life has returned to normal.
Sudanese sources told ArabicNews.com that life has returned to normal in the Baher El-Ghazal region and that there were no security or military violations over the last two days like those which took place last Wednesday and Thursday.
