Iraqi crisis discussed between Jordan and Iran
Jordan-Iran, Politics, 2/2/1998
Crown Prince Hassan of Jordan phoned Iranian President Mohammed Khatami. They discussed bilateral relations between their countries and the current crisis between Iraq and UNSCOM.
"Jordan has been calling upon all sides to continue diplomatic efforts to resolve the dispute between Iraq and UNSCOM," Crown Prince Hassan told Khatami. Reason is to be followed to avoid violence and destruction, he added.
"We have to do the utmost to solve the crisis peacefully, because military escalation will result in aggravation of the situation," Khatami said. He said that Iran would cooperate in that direction.
