Boosting exhibitions and commercial centers between Egypt and Sudan
Egypt-Sudan, Economics, 2/2/1998

The Egyptian-Sudanese committee will hold a meeting next July which will be chaired by Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili and Sudanese Minister of External Trade Osman Ibrahim Abdel Hady.

The meetings are expected to focus on a number of economic issues in order to boost the integration accords between the two countries and follow up what was applied from the memorandum of understanding that had been signed recently in Cairo. The meeting is also expected to focus on boosting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Goweili said the upcoming meeting will be held in Khartoum and will witness the signing of more accords to boost the transportation sector between the two countries and facilitate the movement of the businessmen through revoking the entry visa. The meetings will also try to organize visits by mutual delegations and increase the number of exhibitions and commercial centers in the two countries.

He added that during the meeting, the committee will also discuss overcoming monetary problems and opening branches of the two countries' banks in both countries in order to solidify their role in commercial development and boost relations between the chambers of commerce and industry in the two countries. The banks will also help create new fields for joint investment and revive the technical cooperation committee in the field of medicine manufacture.
