Moroccan-Japanese cooperation in mining research
Morocco, Economics, 2/2/1998
The government-run Executive Mining Office recently signed an agreement with the Japanese Development Agency (JDA) through which the latter will develop Moroccan mining and mining research technologies.
The agreement includes cooperation in developing Moroccan fisheries, as the JDA will provide fishing equipment and offer training over a period of four years.
The Moroccan Ministry of Mines and Energy announced last month that it had prepared a plan under which $200 million was devoted to a geological survey of the whole country, 710,850 square kilometers, between 1998 and 2007.
