Court to give its verdicts on Islamic Group case Sunday

The Supreme Military court will give its verdicts next Sunday in the case of the Islamic Group which includes 65 defendants, among whom are four attorneys.

The hearings had been running for two months, during which the magistrates heard the witnesses, prosecutors and the defense. The prosecutors had accused the defendants of organizing a group whose goals contradict the laws and articles of the Egyptian constitution and which aimed at usurping power through terrorist activities.

They were also accused of the robbery and destruction of some economic establishments, in addition to possession of arms and explosives without permits and forging official documents.
