Netanyahu's statement on the Golan condemned
Regional-Israel, Politics, 1/30/1998
The Arab League has strongly condemned the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Israel's non-withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan, stressing that these statements are in contradiction with all international norms and laws.
AL Assistant Secretary General for foreign affairs Ahmad Bin Hali said the extremist Israeli government has to realize that Syria's position is supported by Arab will, which is determined to liberate every inch of the occupied Arab lands in the Golan, south Lebanon and Palestine.
The AL warned Israel against violating the terms of reference and principles of the peace process, noting that the alternative is dragging the region into a dangerous situation.
Bin Hali said Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders will not be able to impose their hegemony on the occupied Arab territories, or violate the international community forever. The AL demanded the international community, especially the US and the European Union, to move effectively to implement the relevant United Nations resolutions.
