Al Turabi is waiting for a private invitation to visit Egypt
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 1/30/1998
Diplomatic sources confirmed that the speaker of the Sudanese parliament and head of the National Islamic Front Dr. Hassan Al Turabi is waiting for the arrival of a private invitation to visit Egypt.
The sources said Al Turabi did not respond to two previous invitations from his Egyptian counterpart Fathi Serour to attend the conferences of the International and Arab Inter-Parliamentary Federations two weeks ago because the climate during those two conferences was not favorable.
Meanwhile, Egyptian sources said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received reports from the Foreign Minister Amr Moussa over the results of contacts and discussions which were held with the Sudanese government and opposition aimed at improving the relations and preserving Sudan's unity.
