PLO official: Israel misleading US administration

Secretary General of the executive committee of the PLO, Mahmoud Abbas, stated that the Israeli government is misleading the US administration and providing it with incorrect and inaccurate information about the stands of the Palestinian government.
In a statement to the London-based "Middle East" daily issued on Wednesday, Abbas said Palestinian-American peace talks have achieved no progress, noting that the Palestinians confirmed their commitment to signed agreements. He added that U.S. President Clinton showed understanding toward the demands raised by the Palestinians.
