Clinton congratulates Muslims on Eid al-Fitr

U.S. President Bill Clinton has addressed a special message of congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of al-Fitr feast in which he stressed the determination of the U.S. to spare no efforts to establish just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
President Clinton expressed his hopes that all peoples of the region will live in peace and security and the Palestinian people will meet their ambitions in living as free people, adding that the U.S. objective is to support people of the region to end an old conflict.
President Clinton expressed sympathy with the peoples of Algeria and Afghanistan who, he said, have borne a lot of suffering, and appealed to the Almighty God to heal their wounds.
He described Iran as an important country of rich and deeply-rooted heritage, the Iranians have to be proud of, noting that it is not impossible to overcome certain genuine disputes between Iran and the US. He said he hoped a day will come when the U.S. can once again establish good relations with Iran.
Concluding his message President Clinton stressed his country's commitment to the cause of peace among peoples of the world.
