Israel refuses an active European role in ME peace

Israel has openly rejected any active European role in the peace process, as proposed by the Palestinians.
In statements to France Press Wednesday, the spokesman for Israeli Premier David Bar-Illan said the Europeans hold positions similar to those advocated by the Palestinians, thereby they cannot carry out the role of neutral broker.
Bar-Illan elaborated that Israel believes the European Union's role should be limited to offering aid and donations to the Palestinians.
