Death Penalty for Iranian editor-in-chief over spying

Specialized Iranian judicial authorities on Tuesday sentenced Murtada Fairouzi, the former chief editor of an Iranian news daily, to death under charges of spying for a foreign state.
Chairman of the judicial complex Qadyani said the sentence should be ratified by the Iranian Supreme court. Qadyani said Fairouzi was arrested in June 1997 under charges of spying for a foreign state.
