France wanders if UN's Butler should leave UNSCOM

France has expressed regret over statements made by the chairman of UNSCOM in Iraq, Richard Butler, in which Butler said Baghdad owns biological weapons able to exterminate Tel Aviv, Israel.
In statements to Monte Carlo radio, French Foreign minister Hubert Vedrine said this information was not included in UNSCOM's recent report to the UN Security Council. Vedrine wondered whether Butler's statements were a violation of his his role as the chairman of UNSCOM or not.
