EU to play more effective ME peace role

European Union foreign ministers on Monday voiced support for US efforts to push the ME peace process forward. The ministers, meeting in Brussels, said they intend to play a more important role in Middle East peace negotiations, including the activities of the special envoy of the EU to the region.
The EU states reiterated in a joint statement that Israel has to do more regarding redeployment in the Palestinian West Bank. The statement added the full unconditional commitment to the peace agreements is basic to establishing a mutual confidence in the peace process.
