Sudanese minister: Great investment projects between US and Egypt

Osman El-Mahdi, the Sudanese minister of commerce, said the first stage of Egyptian - Sudanese economic cooperation will view a great movement in economic cooperation and a concentration on free trade.

Because Egypt and Sudan had planned for steps concerning privatization and free trade, there will be new means of cooperation through free trade exchange and joint investment projects in many fields, the most important of which are meat, agriculture and mineral resources, Osman said.

The minister pointed out that it's essential to make use of Egyptian experience in the fields of industrial development that is becoming more prominent.

This comes on the heels of efforts by both Sudan and Egypt to renew their political and economic ties.
