Regional, Politics, 1/27/1998

Arab diplomats met in Cairo yesterday to discuss fostering cooperation with Africa. The permanent representatives to the 22-member Arab League are expected to submit their recommendation to the Arab foreign ministers during their meeting in Cairo in March.

Zakareia Ismail, the AL's assistant chief for political affairs, said as long Arabs are eager to "protect their future interests," establishing further political, economic and cultural relations with the African states is inevitable, Al-Wafd daily reported.
