Eidel Fitr expected Thursday

Chief of the Egyptian survey authority Mohamad Mosaad Ibrahim yesterday said the Muslim lunar month of Ramadan would end on Wednesday 28.
"Thursday the 29th of the January will be the first day of the lunar month of Shawwal," he said. The first day of Shawwal marks the Muslims' lesser holy feast of Eidel Fitr.
Muslims are expected to sight the crescent moon of the new month today. But Mosaad said it would be difficult to spot during the day, Al-Anbaa daily reported.
