Prestigious oil, gas show in March

Oman's oil and gas will come into the international spotlight as the sultanate hosts the prestigious "Oil and Gas West Asia" exhibition and conference from March 9 - 12, focusing on the $25 billion investment taking shape in the Asian energy market over the next five years.
Dr. Mohammed al-Romhi, Oman's minister of oil and gas, will deliver the keynote address at the conference on the theme "investment opportunities in the oil and gas industry in west Asia."
The rapidly emerging petro-economic zone of west Asia is swiftly growing in importance both for the consuming nations in east Asia and the west and for Middle East and Asian producers, C. J. Paul, General manager of Omanexpo, told reporters.
Omanexpo is organizing the exhibition in association with trade fairs and conferences of Dubai. The conference is being staged in collaboration with the IBC Gulf Conference. The conference will be held at Sub Novotel while the exhibition will be staged in the adjoining Omani International Exhibition Center.
Within the next five years at least $25 billion will be invested in specified oil and gas projects in western Asia outside the traditional core Middle East market of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and Egypt, yet so far has been no specific energy event designed to serve the requirements of this vital region, Paul said.
Leading oil-producing organizations from the Sultanate, the US, the UK, France, Iran, India, Pakistan and Baghdad have agreed to participate in the exhibition and conference.
The list of product profiles at the exhibition covers over 20 major entire including bunkering calibration, drilling equipment, exploration services, marine constancy, project management, rigs, subsea engineering and well head equipment.
Besides investment opportunities posed by the conference, technical seminars will be held on the petroleum engineering challenges in western Asia. Technical poppers on geology, refining and petrochemicals, production operations, information systems and technology will be presented by accomplished petroleum engineers and experts.
