Iraqis say Clinton to deflect attention from scandal by striking Iraq
Iraq, Politics, 1/26/1998
Iraqi newspapers stated that US President Bill Clinton might authorize a military action against Iraq to deflect attention away from his personal scandals.
The newspapers added that the circumstances Clinton currently faces along with pressures from the Republicans in Congress to get him out of the White House might lead him to issue an order to attack Iraq to maintain his position.
