Mubarak calls for fighting terrorism practiced under the name of Islam

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on Saturday called for a fight against terrorism carried out under the name of Islam.
In a ceremony he attended on Saturday night to mark the "Night of Power," Mubarak said, "We have to denounce and condemn those terrorist killers who allege themselves as protectors of Islam, because, in effect, they are the enemies of the 'Almighty God' and Islam."
He added "this black terrorism," aims at weakening Islam, exhausting its powers and plundering its resources. President Mubarak stressed that Islamic states must adopt a tougher stand against groups carrying out terrorist acts.
