European Union economic threat convinced Algeria

Well-informed sources in Algeria said the main reason Algeria accepted the visit of the European Union troika was a direct warning raised by the Union to the Algerian authorities.
The warning included the possibility of stopping all forms of economic cooperation with Algeria if the latter did not give any positive indication that it intends to seriously examine the crimes that are committed daily, especially after they increased during the month of Ramadan.
The European delegation visited Algeria to investigate the situation there. The delegation's findings are to be submitted to the European Union foreign ministers during their meeting in Brussels on January 26.
