Jordan bans the departure of Iraqi diplomats from Jordan
Jordan-Iraq, Judicial, 1/21/1998
Jordan imposed a complete ban on the departure of Iraqi diplomats within the measures taken by the Jordanian police to identify those responsible for the assassination of the Charge D'Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan and a number of Iraqi businessmen last Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian government reservedly welcomed Saddam Hussein's decision to release all the Jordanian citizens who had been detained and imprisoned in Iraq. However, Jordanian King Hussein maintained his criticism of Iraqi leadership and described it as a group of people who control Iraq.
Well-informed Jordanian sources said the security authorities in Jordan had prevented 4 Iraqi diplomats from leaving Jordan before it issued the complete ban.
