Al-chief to meet envoys on Algeria

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid will meet today with the permanent Algerian envoy to the Cairo-based organization to discuss the situation in Algeria, where up to 1,000 people were killed by terrorists over the past two weeks.
The league's assistant secretary-general for media affairs, ambassador Moham Mokbel, returned from Algeria last Wednesday after delivering a message of support to Algerian Presient Liamine Zeroual, Al Akhbara daily reported.
