Jordan's PM criticizes Iraq's decision to release Jordanians
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 1/21/1998
Jordan's Prime Minister Abdul Salam al-Majali on Tuesday criticized the Iraqi decision to release Jordanian prisoners in Iraq taken through the mass media before informing the Jordanian leadership about it.
Interviewed by the BBC, al-Majali welcomed the Iraqi decision to set free the Jordanian prisoners, but he said that Iraq did not refer to efforts made by the Jordanian leadership to free those prisoners.
Member of the Jordanian Parliament Leith Shbelat will return to Amman accompanied by the Jordanians released in Baghdad.
About the killing of several Iraqis in Amman, al-Majali said he welcomes any information useful for the investigation, but rejects Iraq's participation in investigations.
