Qatar terminates Egyptian workers

An Egyptian diplomat yesterday expected Qatar to terminate the contracts of an additional 2,540 Egyptian expatriates at the Interior Ministry before the feast "Eide al-Fitr" holiday.
Muhamad Minisy, Egypt's envoy in Doha, added that the Qatari authorities have recently ended the contracts of scores of Egyptians working there.
The predicated terminations would mean the dismissal of all 413 Egyptians working at the Qatari Interior Ministry. He also denied any reconciliation bid by Oman between Egypt and Qatar.
Qatar has turned down petitions by the fired Egyptians to allow them to cope with the abrupt termination, Al-Akhbar reported.
