Japanese support education in Jordan

Jordan and Japan signed in Amman an agreement according to which the Japanese government presented $62,527 to support the educational sector in El-Karek. The major portion of the funds will de dedicated to supporting education in the El-Kasaba region of El-Karek.
The first grant is worth $48,474. According to this agreement, the embassy will provide 525 heaters to be used in 89 schools in the region to improve educational conditions for students.
Japan is making a number of grants to Jordan. The first one, worth $90,600, was presented on June 22, 1997 and was dedicated for orphans.
