Shooting Israeli military vehicle in Gaza strip

Armed individuals shot at a military vehicle in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian police official said. The vehicle was severely damaged, but no one was hurt.

This attack is the first on individuals in the Israeli army since the start of the new year. The area is under Palestinian self-rule, and the incident coincides with Israeli demands that the Palestinians strike at members of radical groups.

Khaled Abu El-Ela, chairman of the military communications bureau in Gaza, said the Israeli officer driving the vehicle was not injured and that Palestinian police will cooperate with the Israeli officials to investigate the incident, which took place near Jewish settlements in the southern Gaza Strip.
