Japanese - Egyptian aid talks

The annual economic consultations between Egypt and Japan will be held in Cairo Wednesday, said economic sources at the Ministry of International Cooperation.

The source expressed hope that Japanese aid for Egypt during the period ahead would focus on agriculture, transfer of technology and the promotion of direct investment.

The scheduled discussion, to he headed by the first undersecretary of the Ministry of International Cooperation Ahed Ragaie on the Egyptian side, aims to enhance economic cooperation and work out the details of Japanese grant and the tripartite cooperation between Egypt, Japan and Africa through the Egyptian fund for cooperation with African countries.

The official source praised the efforts and grants offered by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency for establishing projects in Egypt, especially in education, health and environment, Al-Akhbar daily.
