Permanent deficit in Palestinian Ministry of Education budget

Palestinian Minister of Higher Education Hanan Ashrawi said that the higher education budget is not listed in the Palestinian budget, which makes the ministry's revenues inadequate and will and cause a permanent deficit.
Meanwhile, the undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education said that the budget deficit of the Palestinian universities reached $16.8 million.
The statements of the Ministry's officials came after student protests in front of the Ministry premises due to increases in university fees.
