Family of arrested Lebanese police chief appeals his release

The family of the chief of the Hasbayya police station, who was arrested by the occupation forces four days ago, called upon the Lebanese officials to intervene to make the humanitarian and international establishments and the April Understanding committee exert pressure on the Israeli government to free the chief.

The chairman of the Hasbayya development commission, Dr. Kasem Hashem, has condemned the detention of the police chief and other citizens in the district. He said he considered the Israeli practices clear indications of Israel's intentions to eliminate government and official establishments from the district. He appealed to the Lebanese state to follow up on this issue and called upon all Lebanese people to refuse any type of normalization with Israel.
