Libya slams US-Turkish-Israeli maneuvers
Libya-Turkey, Politics, 1/2/1998

Libya criticized joint maneuvers between Turkey, the USA, and Israel which are due to be held this month. Libya said those maneuvers are directed against Arabs and Muslims.

In a statement, Libya criticized the coalition between Israel and Turkey and said that Turkey opened its doors and territories to the enemy of the Arabs (Israel) in order to receive training on how to attack the Arab nation.

Libya stated that Turkey ignored the decisions of the Tehran Islamic Summit, as it received Israeli Minister of Defense Yitzhak Mordechai and gave him a hero's reception, and declared that joint maneuvers with Israel and the USA will be held on time, thus ignoring and belittling Arabs and Muslims.

Through its official news agency, Libya assessed about the agreements that Turkey signed with Israel, on top of which is the one described as the "deal of the century," through which Turkey will buy Israeli tanks worth billions of dollars.
